Structural Reviews

Our deep understanding of the drivers impacting the WA Public Sector, means we are well placed in providing strategic advice when it comes to restructuring.

We are mindful of budgetary limitations and the need to find solutions within allocated staffing levels (FTE) and for staff to feel secure and engaged when their roles are being reviewed. We also understand the need for agencies to pivot to support government commitments and in order to deliver new services.
Our approach is highly consultative and we take time to fully understand your business needs and the outcomes you want to achieve.

We look to the future and make sure our recommendations work not only in the short-term, but also prepare roles and structures to meet future business demands.
We use a wide range of information gathering approaches to support our functional and structural reviews including staff surveys, document reviews, stakeholder consultation, inter-jurisdictional research, workshops and comparative analysis of other agencies within the WA Public Sector.

What Our Clients Say

QLMC provided essential support for the review and redesign of a lean and overworked policy area within the department. This work was ably led and guided by Lori Grech and Michelle Neil. Their approach to the review was appropriate and proportionate, allowed sufficient consultation with staff and key internal and external stakeholders, and demonstrated an appreciation of factors that had triggered the review and would need to be considered in determining future options.

Their work was thorough and moved at the pace required.

There was regular communication on progress and discussion of issues and insights. Lori and Michelle brought a real-world view to the process, and good humour when needed, as well as a readiness to challenge assumptions. The former made easier what can be a fraught process and the latter made for a better outcome.
The final report was comprehensive and provided a strong rationale for recommended changes that were feasible in the current environment, and which I am pleased to say have been implemented.
I would use QLMC again and have since recommended the agency to others.

Divisional Director

Functional reviews that QL have undertaken for me have been supported by deep engagement with the impacted business areas to inform findings and recommendations. QL’s connections and networks across the sector provide great comparative analysis and examples of good practice.
